What is atlanta football classic?

The Atlanta Football Classic (AFC) is an annual college football game played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The game features two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

The first Atlanta Football Classic was held in 1989 with the game between Florida A&M University and Tennessee State University. Since then, the AFC has become a staple event in Atlanta's sports and entertainment calendar.

Apart from being a football game, the Atlanta Football Classic also includes various activities and events like marching band exhibitions, tailgate parties, and a student leadership conference. Through these events, the AFC aims not just to promote football but also to provide educational opportunities and community engagement.

The Atlanta Football Classic attracts a large number of visitors every year, including alumni, sports fans, students, and families. Proceeds from the AFC are donated to charitable organizations and educational institutions in the Atlanta area.
